The Full Congress has finally given the green light to the Law on Social Economy after adding an amendment by the PSOE in the Senate that allows on a "transitional" housing cooperatives that can "sell or lease to non-members, their homes property to a maximum of 50% of "made with partners," which in practice means third of those built.
However, the amendment specifies that the measure is limited to the constructions were initiated before "the entry into force of the Law on Social Economy in the coming days will be published in the Official Gazette (BOE).
The text of the amendment socialist gathered by Europa Press, explains that the measure is "essentially temporary," and seeks to help resolve the "difficulties" that may be going through some cooperative housing for award.
So far, the cooperatives could sell or lease to non-members, business premises and facilities and buildings in addition to their property, although this possibility has now been extended housing, under conditions to be agreed in advance by the general assembly.
This body will also decide the fate of the proceeds from the sale or lease.
